Plant Pathology Department was established at the inception of the College (1945) for teaching undergraduate courses. Masters degree programme was started in the year 1982 while the Doctoral programme was started in 1992. The Department offers nine undergraduate courses and 12 PG and Ph D courses. So far 20 Ph D students and 158 M Sc (Ag) students completed their programmes successfully.
The Department has been excelling on the strong foundations laid by the former Professor and Heads Dr. M. Suganakara Reddy, Dr K. A. Balasubramanian, Dr. Subba Rao, Dr. K. V. M. Krishna Murthy and Dr J. Krishna Prasadji – well known teachers among the students.
The Department has been actively involved in teaching, research and extension activities
